Umberto Boccioni, pittore, scultore futurista e inventore del Dinamismo Plastico, nasce a Reggio Calabria il 19 ottobre 1882, ma trascorre infanzia ed adolescenza in varie città perchè il padre, impiegato statale, è costretto a frequenti spostamenti.

La famiglia, originaria di Forlì, si trasferisce a Genova, poi a Padova nel 1888 ed in seguito a Catania nel 1897, dove Umberto consegue il Diploma in un Istituto Tecnico.
